"The most glorious moments in your life are not the so-called days of success, but rather those days when out of dejection and despair you feel rise in you a challenge to life, and the promise of future accomplishments. " Gustave Flaubert |
My situation is no different to the thousands of other families across the world who are affected by the Autistic Spectrum. Like many before me, I have decided to "Rise Up" to Autism. To stand tall in the face of everything that strives to block the pathway to a fulfilling life for my children. My hope is that, even though I may be at the forefront of this journey, that one day I will be following. Watching and admiring from afar as my children travel through life..... taking the lead. As a parent and guide to my children... I promise to; Rise up to the challenges of just getting through each day. Rise Up to the challenge of learning and going to school. Rise Up to the call for greater Autism Awareness and Acceptance. Raise the standards for all those on the Autistic Spectrum. Rise Up to the challenge of funding/therapy and accessing support. Start breaking the walls down that try to surround our children, keeping them from making friends. Discuss, listen and learn from everyone around us.... we all have a story to tell. My reason to Rise Up is simple..... Rachael |
Rising up to the challenges of living with Autism so we may feel the exhilaration of victory.
